I got DVD Decrypter. You can read a file and then convert it into ISO, it is easly done.

If I convert a file like AVI, MPG or DivX to ISO and burn it to disk, will it work in my DVD player?

Is your player DivX certified? Then probably yes to the DivX, mpg and avi, but no need to convert to ISO before burning. If the player doesn't support avi/mpeg4, raw mpg's, etc. then no. You have to convert to DVD video or (S)VCD before burning.

When I convert the file into DVD format..another file sets up, its a M2V file. Is that what I burn to DVD or the other file?

You need to author and then burn. The m2v should just be the video.

I mean author as DVD video. You need to use a DVD authoring app. Such as DVDLab(pro), TMPGEnc DVD Author, MuxMan, etc.
