Hi, I am trying to convert avi or mpeg to DVD and it takes forever. I've tried TMPGENC and Nero and VSO Divx to DVD and every one takes about 7 hours to convert. I have a pentium 3 with 320 megs of ram. It usually says it will convert the file at 30fps but ends up converting at 7fps. Does anyone know what's wrong?

Sorry for not helping you, but I never make DVDs from AVIs.
Just a question: is that AVI so good? Because the general rule, you must never forget, is garbage in = garbage out and often a SVCD (or a VCD; sometime even a KVCD, which enables you to fit 120'-140' movie on a CD-R) is more than enough, and making that stuff is much simpler and faster than making a DVD...

On another note, a P3 is simply too slow to encode any faster than that, whether the result is watchable or not.
