    Hi hope someone help

I've followed the guide on how to convert avi's to dvd and so far so good. DVD's play and look good on my standalone. My question is that even though I set the the file size in TMPGenc Plus to be 98% of the disk (maybe 4170 mb)when I come to burn it with Nero the file sizes total about 3gb. The finished DVD is good quality but it seems a waste of disk space if I could use it and get even better results. Any ideas?

How long is the video you are converting?

The DVD standard has a maximum bitrate, meaning that if the video file is really short (about an hour or less), it could be encoding at the max bitrate and still not filling the disc.

The other possibility is that the AVI has a corrupt frame and/or index that is causing its length to be misreported to TMPGEnc. On screen 4/5 in the wizard it should display the length of the AVI file in mins -> check to ensure that this is correct.

That's about all I can suggest based on the info that I have.

    Good luck...
