Converting DVD to AVI How Big

    Hello I was wondering when converting from a DVD to avi format how big is the avi file upon coversion ? So take a 2.5hr movie how big will the avi file be ?

    Size(in bits) = running time (in seconds) x bitrate (Kilobits/second).
    You then divide by 8 to get bytes.

    The calculator asks you to plug in the running time and the final size you want then tells you the video bitrate you must use to get that size.
    You might want to include a value for the audio (192?)

    Depending on the source, lowering the bitrate lowers the quality of the output.
