i have some files that are wmv, mpg, all lower end like internet files----and i want to convert to a dvd standard--using tmpgenc or a dvd author----but it seems like almost any time i do some serious rendering or after awhile the computer freezes---i defrag--redo windows xp--etc....a few trillion times
    and it still freezes

    i have a p4 2.4ghz 1gig ram---- pretty decent cpu
    aooh a soyo dragan ultra board----from 2002--
what can i try or what programs might be better thanks

If your comp is freezing up when running demanding programs it may be a heat problem or maybe a power problem.Could you post your full spec's please including power supply.

BTW you have posted in the wrong place.
