Hi there - just wondering if anyone knew how I could convert 50 MB of mpeg to 1 or 2 MBs of asf file!!
At the moment it is a 50MB mpeg on disc and trying to download this on a dial up would take years! Thus, I am trying to convert and zip down to 1 or 2 MB!! Does anyone know if this is possible so it can be downloaded relatively quickly and listened to as an asf through Media Player 9?
Thanks for any help in advance
    Patrick

Select Windows Media Encoder from the drop-down list.

The size you can encode it down to will depend of the quality you want, but it should be much smaller than the mpeg file. It will not help to zip the file because it will already be very highly compressed.

Thanks for that. It turns out that it has been compressed already but was encoded at 128kbps so as it is only speech I think a rerecord at a lower bit rate will do the trick. What's the lowest rate you can record on?
