Are you sure that yor DVD player does not do "on the fly" conversion?
None of the "one-touch" software solutions (DVD2one, CloneDVD, etc) handle NTSC-to-PAL conversion, as they are only compressors.
What you need to do is re-encode the file -> and you are luckier then those of us trying to convert PAL to NTSC. A package called DVD2SVCD handles the needed conversion, and can also produce DVD compatible streams.
As an NTSC-side-of-the-world person I have no experience of this, but I am sure that the following guide ( http://www.dvdrhelp.com/forum/userguides/114252.php ) plus a little experimentation will get the job done. (The guide will not mention it, but on the program's converison tab there is an "NTSC to PAL" selection).
    Good luck.
