Hi was wondering what is a good program to convert vob/ifo files to mpeg and avi?? I came across flash dvd ripper 1.0 but can only get a trial version which has restrictions and I dont want to pay the $50 their asking. Is there any other programs that do this that are freeware or are there any better programs for this than flash dvd ripper (Dont mind paying if its not too much). Thanks

If you already have the VOBs, no problem. We have plenty of guides in http://www.afterdawn.com/guides/.
If the problem is ripping a VOB from a protected DVD, it's a bit harder.
SmartRipper (the one described in our guide) stopped at v. 2.41 (2001), so it's not able to rip new protected DVDs. DVD Decrypter and DVD Shrink are the best (and free) ones. The 1st one has the best ripping capability, DVD shrink enables, losing some extras or/and some qualty in the main movie, to 'shrink' a 9.5 dual layer DVD to a normal 4.7 GB DVD. DVD Decrypter is also able to build a brand new .iso DVD image and (if you have Nero installed on your PC) to burn it directly. You should look on the net (e.g. Doom9 forum, DVDR digest http://www.dvdr-digest.com/articles/articles.php?article_id=23) to look for complete guides...
