    Can anyone help???

I am trying to copy original DVD films to blank DVD-R. I can rip originals to hard drive using DVD Decrypter. The VOB files generally take up more than 4.7gb - bigger than a blank DVD-R. Is there anyway of compressing these files???

I can make VCD's. Do I have to convert VOB to mpeg etc. then convert back???

Well it's a jolly original question, nobody else has ever asked that here before.

I just don't know the answer

I use DVD2SVCD with dvd settings to rip and convert, then CHAPTERXTRACTER to save chapters, MAESTRO to create vts file, then NERO to burn and it will fit on DVD-R. Just make sure the settings in dvd2svcd dont exceed the dvd-r size.
