I have a simple question, since several of my CD ROM games are scratched and no longer work, is it possible to make backups of these games? These games are copy protected so my simple Roxio software will not copy them.

    Thanks,

To backup a PC game can be a little tricky compared to say Playstation games. Use this link to search for your game(s) to determine protection level.

As you may have guessed, Alcohol 120% is my weapon of choice. It isn't free but does have a trial period. Navigating through Alcohols forums, you'll find some very handy guides. Use this to get started.

Scratched discs can often be resurected at your local video store, by using their surfacing machine.(some have one) or use one of those "kits" now available to "refinish" a CD or DVD, but generally these are rubbish.

Yes go to your local video store and so long as the scratches are'nt too deep you should be able to recover them tho it's 50/50 if it works,as for buying a repairer don't bother as the cheapo's are only good for general data disks that you use for backups etc
