Did you do a search before asking?

For the third time that I've written alone...

Bad media combined with a standalone that can't cope.
The end of the disc is the critical part as it travels past the laser faster so imperfections won't get by a fussy standalone.

You might get better results if you burn an image. You will get better results if you use better media.

the media i am using is the new bulkpac gen 4 which should be more advanced than all the other media so which brand would u recommend.as i have already tried 7 different brands but they all seem to do the same

I am in the process of finding a decent brand. But Datasafe with the Ritek dye seem a good bet (not the yellow top ones).

I have two standalones one will produce the skipping problem you describe after the first hour or so of the film. The other plays even the cheapest media without any problem.

Have you tried your discs in another standalone?
I am assuming that they play fine in the PC?

Bulkpaq do not have a good reputation

    malum,

I think you have hit the nail on the head with this one.

Datasafe / Datawrite are a good brand, IF you can get your hands on them.

I am running low on blanks, and strugling to find suppliers that have stock.

I hate to say this and it should go without saying
"You only get what you pay for"

cheap media gives you loads of probs , steer clear of low priced dvd-/+r
