    Hi
I am having a problem recording a speech from an internet site to my PC.
I downloaded the speech a few days ago, and edited it using sound forge.
I have tried to download the same file since then, and I can't get it to record. The audio plays ok, but no audio recorder I have (Real Player)( Sound Forge ) etc will work.
I have just run the latest upgrade file for XP, could this have stuffed something up.? I notice it also installed the upgrade for WMP.
I have 2 PC's both upgraded with the service pack.
    Neither will work.
    Any help or comments please.
    Thanks
    Wooduck

Have you tried -- removing completely your Recording software and re-installing it ?

The Update to Xp in many cases does changes that some software cant tolerate and they have to be re-installed. Furthermore many software manufacturers have on their sites patches to accommodate Xp Sp2 package.

    Hi Jeanc1
Will try that and post the result.
I did a removal of the SP2 package on one of the PC's
last night (Aus time) but it didn't help.
That doesn't look promising does it?.
    Thanks for your help.

If XP2 did some damages to your software -- even removing it wont undo that -- you may still have to re-install that affected software
