    Hello,

I am trying to convert my video library to DVD. I have the LG XBR446 combo recorder/vcr, but I can't copy video tapes that have protection. I also tried going from another VCR, but that didn't work either.

Any ideas on how I can do this? Thanks.

Good question I have been trying to figure this out myself. I've even tryed playing the vhs tape in one vcr that is lined through another and still get the copy protection thing at times. Then sometimes it goes through but ends up jumpy in some parts. Maybe some of the pros here can help us.

    Hi,

[Bold]Copy Protection Technics[/bod] like Macrovision Levels 1, 2, 3 and CGMS and its effects can be found at http://www.icos-tech.com/about.html.

In my case [bold]I am not able to playback my recordings in any other DVD[/bold]. Just black screen. Same simptom reported at http://forum.ecoustics.com/bbs/messages/2/113334.html.I´m not able to find any support information about this model at the manufacturer site. This Combo recorder seems to be the first that LG deploys the LSI 8602 chipset for DVD recording http://www.lsilogic.com/news/product_news/2004_10_26.html. Because of this I suspect LG has tech problems with this model (LSI Support to firmware or so). I´ll try to contact LG and see for a solution. Any tips ?
