    I checked this site out"http://perso.club-internet.fr/farzeno/firmware"
and they claim to have a firmware upgrade that makes the a03 RPC1...Then to use dvd genie (what is this?)have you heard of anyone who's had success with this upgrade...?
If an incorrect firmware is applied can a correct one be applied over it?
And silly question but where is the link to your dvd-dvdr guide dRD?
    Cheers.

We don't have DVD -> DVD-R guide yet -- someone donate me DVD-R drive and I'll write one :)

And if that French firmware site has it, it works. They're really _the_ authority in firmware world :)

And DVD Genie is a tool (you can d/l from AfterDawn.com as well) which overrides your DVD software's region settings (while firmware patch overrides your drive's physical region settings).

    Thanks for that info...
Could you please tell me what guide you would reccommend to follow ...
for making copies of dvd 9's...?

If the movie file is larger than 4.36 would the quality be noticable if it had to be rempeged..ie bitrate altered...?
    Cheers.

Best way is to try to get rid of unnecessary streams before considering re-encoding the video. Doom9 has excellent DVD-R guides, read them.

I read doom9's guide to recodeing and i tried using rempeg2 to encode my video, but when i say Encode, it doesn't look like anything is happening and my processor usage stays at 0%. what am i foing wrong?
