    Hey guys !

I'm a little stuck on this one....

I have a 500gig WD SATA][ drive in an Vantec enclosure (USB / eSata ][ ) was working fine until a few weeks back. It appears anything I have downloaded on to the drive directly that was compressed gives me CRC errors when I extract.

I have even extracted other files from other drives to this one and get the CRC errors.

I have scnned for viruses and ran scandisk (surface scan) and have found no problems. The only thing I can think of is that I disconnected the drive while it was running and messed up the table some how. Should I clean the drive off and format again ? or is there a repair tool or something ?

    Thankz !

It may be the drive, it may be the enclosure. To test this, run the hard drive internally in your PC and see if you get the same errors. If you do, back up and reformat (or preferably replace) the drive. If you don't, replace the enclosure.
