i noticed the other day that while my xbox was on my wireless signal it could stream media off any of my shared directories. but im moving to campus and they dont allow routers so i was wondering... if i was to plug a crossover cable from the xbox to a PC would i be able to stream anything on a shared folder on that pc to my xbox? if not what would i need to be able to do that. thanks
if u have 2 network cards then this should work no problem but you'll need to share your internet connection in order to have web access on your xbox and rss feeds etc. if you only have one then no web on xbox and constant cable swapping.
im not really interested in web access or anything like that. im just saying laptop to xbox via a crossover i can still ftp to it? and the main question is can i stream my video with it ( the video is just on the laptop off a shared folder)
anyone? im going to bestbuy soon and i dont wana waste money on a crossover cable if its not gona do what i need it to
I lnow this might sound idiotic, But why would you want to stream onto the box? I mean if you've got the media on your laptop why not just watch/listen there?
ive got a bigger tv in my dorm with nicer speakers. so it will work out better that way. thanks for the help though
