i noticed the other day that while my xbox was on my wireless signal it could stream media off any of my shared directories. but im moving to campus and they dont allow routers so i was wondering... if i was to plug a crossover cable from the xbox to a PC would i be able to stream anything on a shared folder on that pc to my xbox? if not what would i need to be able to do that.

    thanks

if u have 2 network cards then this should work no problem but you'll need to share your internet connection in order to have web access on your xbox and rss feeds etc. if you only have one then no web on xbox and constant cable swapping.

Yes, you can. I used to do it all of the time with my laptop.

Yeah, you can stream that way as well. Works perfect.

I lnow this might sound idiotic, But why would you want to stream onto the box?
I mean if you've got the media on your laptop why not just watch/listen there?
