Basically what I want to do is edit the vob so as to remove any inappropriate scenes.
Is there a program out there that allows me to do this in one step?
What I have tried doing is using the dvd cutter and merger at www.jummpa.com this way:
    1. Rip movie according to chapters using Smartripper.
    2. Cut out the movie up to the unwanted scene in a chapter say chapter x.
    3. Cut out the movie after the unwanted scene in chapter x.
    4. Merge the two files above and delete the unwanted scene to create a new file in place of chapter x.
    5. Use ifoedit to create new ifo files for my dvd player.

The only downside of this method is that I have to play the vob file to get the starttime of the unwanted scene and the endtime of the same. Isn't there a program that allows me to edit by showing me the frames so that I can cut at the beginning of the scene then scroll to the end instead of manually having to get the start and end times?

Did you ever find a way to do this? I am trying to figure this out myself.

Simply use the one and only TMPGenc 2.54 with the newest m2v VFAPI plugin. With the MPEGTOOLS you can cut and merge your mpeg2 (vob) files ! Have fun ;-)
