Cyclic Redundancy Error

    Sometimes when I try to copy something that is scrached, it says to disc can't be read. Is there any way to bypass this?

    Sometimes if the scratch is bad enuf it may be a lost cause.

    Try buffing out the scratch w/ something non abrasive in a non circular motion.
    I've used toothpaste and a lens cleaning clothe - sometimes works.

    If you have another drive to rip try that too. Some are better at ripping thru these.

    You can also try decrypter which imho is probably the best ripper for these.

    I agree with binkie on the software. The last I noticed Softpedia was still downloading RipIt4Me. I'm doing a badly scratched DVD as I write this with RI4M.

    There's also resurfacing tools for buffing the surface of discs. Nothing is going to help a deep gouge though. To add to binkie's list of polishing agents, a slightly abrasive car wax does a good job of helping with some minor scratches.
