Guys, I've been using DVD Shrink v3.1.6 to backup my collection with no significant problems (thanks to the forums here). Recently I've gotten an error message during the "analysing"/open disc phase. The message reads: [bold]Data Error(cyclic redundancy check)[/bold]

What does it mean and how can i fix it? Thanx in advance for the help!

The error message is a classic sign of a dirty or scratched disk. Try giving it a clean, or perhaps try to re-rip with DVD decrypter or smartripper. You may get lucky.

or it's a DVD mastering error

[often happens with region code 2/4 DVD's
    (used in Australia)]

in this case try Pioneer 107D DVD-Burner
    to rip your DVD's

Thanks to all who replied; the disks themselves were damaged--problem solved!
