I've been using Shrink/Decrypter for some time now to rip DVDs. Recently, I'm getting the following error message when running DVD Decrypter:
    I/O Error
    Device [1:0:0] Pioneer DVD-RW DVR-107D 1.10 (D:) (ATA)

    ScsiStatus: 0x02
    Interpretation: Check Condition

    CDB: 28 00 00 0A B4 80 00 00 01 00
    Interpretation: Read (10) – Sector: 701568

    Sense Area: F0 00 03 00 0A B4 80 0E 00 00 00 00 11 05 00 00 00 00 62 14 00 00
    Interpretation: L-EC Uncorrectable Error

The error has occurred on multiple DVD sources, including one I've had success with previously. The error occurs during the "verifying sectors". I am able to use the newly created DVD so the error may be more nuisance than anything else.
One final note; this started happening right after I replaced my storage disk drive. I tried the old drive though and the error is still there.

Does anyone have an idea why this might be happening? Also, is the verification part worth doing?

Is this with a change of media brand?
