    Hey guys,
I just joined here and did some searching couldnt find a definate answer for my question. I've got a DLP that is maxed 720p, i'm looking to up my movie viewing. I will be getting an oppo upconversion player to replace my old progressive scan, my question is will a 1080i or p upconversion player send a signal at that resolution or since my tv is only 720p will it be sent at that resolution?
Sorry if this is a newbie question but I just got into the HD seen and not quite sure how it all works.

Its not going to matter as the tv can only produce 720p also the soure will communicate with the tv and only send the 720p

720p refreshes the screen all at once while the 1080i does this in two steps half the first time and then the other of course many times a second.

1080p refreshes the whole screen at once
