Could someone tell me the best cable for best picture quality? I've heard of the VGA box and S-video, but I'm sure there are other ones better than those. Also does anyone have a link, where I can see the difference between them? (i.e. pictures)

I've got S-video and it's the best i've seen, alot better than scart.

I think it really depends on what you are going to use the cable for:

Component is widely considered to be the best, however you need to own an HDTV or Plasma Screen to take advantage of Component inputs.

RGB Scart is considered to be the best for gaming because it results in a clearer and sharper picture.

S-Video has a stronger colour, but the picture is less sharp than that of RGB Scart for gaming but for playing DVDs it is said to be better than RGB scart.

Despite that, I use RGB Scart for my PS2 and DVD Player and I think it to be best universally.

So you guys really do have a grudge against me... *sniff* What h-have I done?!! *cries silently*_X_X_X_X_X_[small]When you are on your deathbed, you will wonder, "Did I waste my life? Was it worth spending all that time on that?" Do not despair, no one has wasted their life. After all, you can only waste something if you throw it away. And you can't throw life away. [/small]

i use both s-video and RGB but i prefer to use the s-video.It is more easier to setup with less wires, its affordable and the graphics on gaming arent that clear but its good enough but when your playing DVDS its really clear. i would go with s-video

I don't get it when you mean there's more wires.... I though you could buy a SCART thing for you to plug in the 3 colours? And I'm only intrested in gaming for this thread.

I use component cables for my HDTV.

Enable high definition function in a game and the picture is just pure heaven. The resolution is much higher and color is superb. I also use the optical port for sound that goes to a receiver for 5.1 surround sound.

I used to use s-video, there is quite a difference as s-video seems much blurrier to me. It's hard to see the difference in picture, but here is a link anyways to a soul calibur II site that gives examples of high rez progressive scan pics.

Try that, those are the progressive scan pics for the ps2. Not sure if there are any normal interlaced pics on the site, but the xbox 720p pics do look amazing.
