After you rip the DVD onto your HDD, if is small enough to fit on a regular DVD( I usually rip movie only, if I want the extras I have them on the original discs, but frankly, maybe I watch the extras of 1 DVD out of 50),use ImGburn ( free) to burn to disc. If it is bigger than 4.3 Gb, shrink it with DVD Shrink to the size desired.
The paid version has more option, like support for different formats, lets you split the disc in two... You can get the trial version and see if you really need all those extra features. However, if you only want to backup your DVD, this can be done entirely free. I have been using the DVDFab Decrypter the free version for almost 2 years. Is frequently updated to keepup with the new encryptios. If you pay for the platinum or gold or whatever version, you will not get a better ripper or decrypter, just more features that you might use or not, or you can probably find them in other free programs.

Dfab 4 Plat is a great program and well worth the $$$ it ask for. The Updates are free for life. But download the Trial version first to make sure you want all those bells and whistles. to Burn a DVD I use Imgburn (also free)

*Use DFab 4 to rip the original disc to your Hard drive.
*Use Shrink to get it to fit on a DVD5 and then save it as an ISO to your hard Drive.
*Use Imburn to burn it to a Blank dvd5
