Hi, I have a Toshiba SD1502. I flashed the bios under WinXP a while ago and got ripping speed up to 9x and now I'm running Windows2000 and only get maximum of 2.3x (back to usual). Has anyone experience this? I flashed it under the current OS, though, no speed change.

is the OS the ONLY thing that has changed? Also, check to make sure DMA is enabled.

I just got my winXP disc back and now running. Yup it's the OS all right. I'm back to ripping at 9x+. Everything's the same, hardware/mobo bios.

I have heard of ripping speed limited by CSS to something like that 2.3x
But I have not suffered from it using Win2K (thank goodness) but, WTF.
So there you go, something that actually works better under WinXP...

Hey, there are other things that work better on XP (okay they aren't in 2000), but that is interesting. I'll have to keep that in mind for future reference.
