    hi there!
i have a canon powershot a40, and i am completely clueless on how to make the pictures i send smaller so that when i email them they aren't 3 times as big as the moniter! i take my pictures in the highest setting on my camera which is
    1600 x 1200.
any advice would be much appreciated!

The problem is, most people don't have their display settings (on their monitor, i mean) set at 1600x1200. This setting does mean better RESOLUTION, but not necessarily better CLARITY. Most people set their monitors to 800x600 or 1024x768. Use a lower resolution as this hi setting will create overflow on their monitors and thus giving them huge pictures.
