If I try an move a Divx file from one hdd to another hdd I loss the "Document summary info".

Is there anyway of keeping this data?
If not can I recreate it?

I really would like to keep this info because it holds some very useful information for me.

Why is this information lost anyway if I move a file?

Check disk filesystem before moving file. NTFS supports alternate data streams (which is where document summary info is stored), FAT32 does not. neither do DVD or CD ROM or memory sticks.

    Thanks for the info.
Will since I am using Fat32 this explains why the data is lost.
And since the data is not retained in other media it is also lost.
This sucks but I guess that is the way things go.
I guess I will have to use some other method of storing the information, I want to retain.

Thanks again for an informative answer.

is there a way that you can take that info and either type it or copy and paste it to a text document and then just save that with your DivX file after it is moved?
