I have a Panasonic S53 Dvd Player and a standard def tv. I have been burning divx/xvid avi files onto cdrs (i dont have a dvd burner). Some of the files will distort the picture by quickly scrolling the video verticaly across the screen with no color and a general darkness when played on my tv, but are fine on my computer using realplayer, windows media player and vlc. Does anyone know why this happens and how to fix it? Thanks.
I've seen a similar problem with several divx files on a new divx player. The files all play fine on any computer. I wonder if this has to do with Macrovision protection. I read recently that divx licensed Macrovision for set-top players. -noia
