Hi, I'm, totally new to the Dream DM500C scene. I copied a Commando 8.2 image over to my DM500C using FTP and renamed it to 'root.cramfs' then ran the 'Manual Update' in the Software Update section as instructed by the menu within the DM. It proceeded to erase the flash and the write the new flash but when it rebooted i got nothing, the box powers up but nothing appears on the screen nor can i connect to it via the PC. Have i totally fried my box or can i recover it, any help would be greatly appreciated. Miker.....
Now you've learned that you cannot load a Dbox2 image onto a Dreambox 500C. Use Dreamup & a null modem cable to flash a proper Dreambox image onto it.
