I for one think that this is a very good modchip because you don't risk burning yourself. I also know that some people have already gotten the LITE version and that it's available for people to buy, so I have a question for people who have one installed, and working properly.

Does it enable PS2's v5-v8 to read DVD-RW/DVD+RW media?
(Anyone who who has it on a version 7/8 please anwser because I have a v7 and might just get one of these chips)

i doubt it. rw readablity is based on the laser in your ps2. Either way, rw discs are very bad for your ps2 laser.

The EZI does support +/- RW discs, but like sly says, it really depends on your laser, and they can hurt it.
