Hi, I just swapped out my DVD RW NEC ND-6500A with the replacement Dell sent me and when I went to device manager to verify I notice there is not a selected region code set on the drive yet. Do I have to set a region (in my case 1 for US) or can I, or should I, leave as not selected?
Perhaps a silly question, if so I apologize.

    Thanks.

I have anyDvd & dvd43, my Piodata 108 (basically a pioneer) does not have its' region set. It never has. Does your drive read discs OK without it? If so, just leave it alone. Do you have any software installed that overcomes region protection?
By the way there are very few silly questions, only silly answers! (Of which I have a degree at!)
    Kind regards,
    Pulsar
