Do I need an ASPI layer with an IDE dvd?

All this discussion about needing an ASPI layer is a little confusing. ASPI refers to scsi devices - not IDE. Do I need an ASPI layer for my IDE drive?

I can burn dvds now with my Veritas software as well as my DVDXCopy Xpress, and want to with DVD Decryptor, which I haven't installed yet.

Heres a link for a bit of ASPI info:

I just have the Nero ASPI and have never had a problem. It sure wouldn't hurt to try Decrypter without it. You can always download ASPI if you have problems. Find the links at the link I posted.

If you install Decrypter and it doesn't see any of your drives, then you need an ASPI update :)
