I downloaded all the files of GTA3 from my xbox on to my computer.
Next I turned the files into an ISO with Craxtion.
Then I burned the ISO with Alcohol 120%.
Then I put the disc in my xbox and tried to play it.
It said in the top right corner "unknown"
    I am using Evolution X.
Any ideas on what I did wrong?
Or maybe I didn't do anything wrong and just don't know how to play it.
The ISO size is 734 MB.
    Does this sound about right?
Thanks to anyone who helps :)

That sounds about right. I would actually have to wait until i get home for lunch to see if i still have the file on my PC for GTA3 to check on the size of it.
But there is nothing special to burning and playing it.
i suppose you have made other working copies? That would rule out bad DVD's or possibly even your burning proceedure.

I had no problems with mine. Just burned the ISO with DVD Decrypter on an 8X DVD-R (Philips) at 4X speed and it works fine.

Have you tried FTP? You can FTP the game(files not ISO) to your hard drive, if it works then it is most likely either your discs or the way you burned it.

That sounds right to me! I haven't used Craxtion before. I used something called SimpleISO. It created the XISO, and I just burned it to a disc using Nero. I wouldn't know why it didn't work for you. You may want to redo it and see if it works.

Where can I download Simple ISO?
I know it must be how I burned it.

You can get it on #xbins. You get on the IRC Channel, and it's on there somewhere. I got it so long ago, that I don't remember where it was at. But look in #xbins.

I tried again with chronicles of riddick.
    The file was 3.17 GB.
I burned it with DVD decrypter 4x this time rather than Alc 120.
    Still no luck.
    I used Maxell DVD-R.
When I start up my xbox with it in it, it comes up "No Disc"
Then when I eject, and close it again, it comes up "Unknown"

    Any other ideas?

could be that your DVD drive just doesn't read Maxcell discs well, or your PC burner doesn't do well burning them.
You may want to go out and buy a small pack, like 3, of some Verbatim 8X DVD-R and try those.

    Ok, weird.
It didn't work on GTA 3.
So I tried it on Riddick and it didn't work.
But then I tried it on NFL Fever 2002 and it did!
But then I tried Hitman Blood Money, and once again it didn't work..
    Same method each time.
Does this help anyone in finding out what might be wrong?
And I'm POSITIVE that I did the same thing.

have you tried different types of quality DVD's?
    Verbatim & Philips worked great (8X DVD-R)
also Taiyo Yuden if you order online (supermediastore.com)
Taiyo Yuden silver thermal laquer 8X DVD-R

I just backed up my copy of GTA 3 the other day. I used Qwix and copied the xISO directly from the D: drive then burned with DVD Decryptor @ 1x using Sony DVD-R. Worked perfectly.
