My first DVD I burned was Terminator 3 in 2003 and those 2 programs worked very well for some time, but now they won't rip anything...are there any new editions of those programs that work with the latest dvds? anyone else have good luck with these programs 'back in the day'?

Why not just move up to the new and improved programs that are ripping through the new protection found on DVD's today?

I think the use of AnyDVD may keep the programs that your are using up to date and able to cope with the newer protections, but then you would have to spend a little moolah when free programs can do just as good if not better.

Enjoy, good luck and happy burning.
