I'm curious because I have an air freshener behind my ps2 and it seems to create a nice ambiance when I play games. However, I'm worrying that if it sucks in air, that the air freshener might be causing some kind of rust or build up on my internal hardware? Am I just paranoid?

thats a weird title.i was thinking the same about Paris Hilton.lol

i wouldnt say you're paranoid.thats a genuine question worrying about your ps2's insides.

im not sure but i tend to get a lot of dust on the blades of my fan so id guess in.if i were you,id just take the air freshener away from the back of the ps2 just in case.

You would think it blows out the hot air that is in the ps2, and not the colder air outside into the ps2. Otherwise there would be way to much dust buildup in your ps2 if it was sucking in....

Man, what a predicament! I did check tonight and I think your right malcdogg, because it does not feel like it is blowing out...

if it totally sucks than how come my room permeates with the air freshener??? Serioushy though should I really worry about an air freshener causing buildup in my machine? After all my apartments breathing air isn't that healthy to begin with. That and I have a hairy dog.

Ok, all this sucking and blowing convo (lol). I want to be clear what i'm thinking. I'm pretty sure that it sucks (or pulls) all the air through the PS2 from the vents in the front. And out the rear fan vent.

it blows air out. i have a third party fan that plugs into the front usb
port and in sucks the air in. the one in the back blows the air out. put your hand in front of the fan...you will feel heat, blowing out.

put a piece of paper over the opening... If the paper clings, it's pulling air in..
If the paper is pushed away, it's pushing air out.
Some fans are very hard to tell wich way the air is flowing because the cfm is very small.. (cfm = Cubic Feet/Minute)
I'm pretty sure though that it's blowing out... Alot of fans pull fresh air through the console, and blow the heated air out the back.
