I have a sony dw-u10a burner, v5 ps2 with a no solder chip/swap discs and i would back up my ps2 games with verbatim datalife plus dvd-rs but they were old so the max speed was 2.4x. Recently i bought more dvd-rs but they werent datalife and they were 1-8x, but these dont seem to burn the game right, and they dont load right if at all. I was wondering if the speed range of the dvds mattered. i burn at 1x with dvd decrypter.

    any help would be great.
    thanks.

If you want the best burn, burn at 1X.

yeah, but what i meant was, is it better to have a 4x max burn speed dvd-r or 8x max burn speed dvd-r. i was considering buyng some verbatim 4x to see if this was true but i dont have too much money to be trying so many differnt kinds.

    a lot of ps2's don't like 8x media. stick with 4x.
