Dolby Digital Wav. Play back 5.1 on Home Theater.

    I know it works.

    Using a CDR,

I exported a Dolby Digital Wav file from Nuendo with the Dolby Plugin. My Home player defaulted to DOLBY DIGITAL.

However, only the left speaker was working.
(With the panning effect swinging the audio in and out)

I thought perhaps it was a muting. But second try still no love.

What I want to do is just get a sample of 5.1 music (My own) while I am saving up for a 5.1 system in my home studio, (No sound blaster stuff) a real home studio.

How can I burn a Dolby Wav 5.1 track on CDR so I can play back in my home stereo?

I did it 100% like the instructions say. Every thing correct!

Thanks. I just fail... over and over....

The song down mixed into Stereo on my Computer with Power DVD. So I know their is a 5.1 data stream in my Song.

    :(

Dolby Digital WAV 5.1 is an oxymoron.
Meaning that there is Dolby Digital 5.1 and there is WAV, and they are not the same thing.
5.1 is a proprietary format represented by AC3 files.
WAV is a stereo format, 2 channels only, and any surround info present could only be 'matrixed' into the 2 channels (like ProLogic surround).
You cannot export a Dolby Digital WAV file, you can only extract (decompress) Dolby Digital audio into a WAV file.
The result is a 2 channel file that is 5 or 6 times larger than the 5.1 audio from which it is made.
    Regards

    I did get it working.

I had to upgrade my Nuendo Dolby plugin as it was not supported under the Nuendo 2.0 system.

It is playing in all channels exported as a Dolby Digital Wav file.

However Yah, I need a real 5.1 system in my studio.
