this is not meant as an insult but do a R.T.F.M.D.(Read The F***ing Manual Dummy) of the motherboard & maybe the case. remember to use 4-40 screws for the floppy & cd/dvd drives & 6-32 screws for the hd

put it together last nite, cool case...lol....turned it on, of course put the hd driver on a floppy as gigabyte's support said, but didn't install the floppy , so couldn't install xp...however....it's an athlon 64 3500+ chip, and when it booted up, said the mhz was 200, i thought the fsb was supposed to be 2000, so now i read that the bios might be outdated, don't really wanna fool with that..........sooooo?? any thoughts? it's a gigabyte mobo....ga 8knxp-sli

fsb be 200 not 2000, check cpu settings as cpu mhz be around 2600-2800 so either got fsb, ratio or both wrong

from what i understand the 200mhz is external, and the clock multiplier is 11...so that is 2200 fsb what it is supposed to be..i think

just found out..that the amd athlon 64 3500+ stock speed is...200 external bus...multiplier is 11...so total cpu speed is 2200....without overclocking
which i don't think i have to do

only 1 guy jumped at me about it till i told him that it was not meant as an insult & i tell most of my computer customer that & none have taken my head off yet as they just laugh at that saying. but most people don't do an R.T.F.M.D. 1st than ask questions, they ask when they should have read, like putting mouth into motion before brain starts processing info
