I've been burning away quite happily for some time now but all of a suuden my combi drive will not recognise any DVD's i put in it? it recognises CD's ok but not DVD's? I've tried to update my firmware some time ago but ran into problems but it still seemed to work fine after i sorted that. I have a NEC ND-2510A. I clean the drive on a regular basis with a len cleaner disc, but now it won't even recognise that?

Not sure what to do next? Can anyone help?

The dvd part in these burnners always go first ,can test a different burnner in your PC ? that is a fast way to find out I've done this many times and it would tell me right away. if the new drive worked the old one was shot . the drives now days are cheap and they are just like light bulbs they burn out . they might last a week or they might last for years
