    hi

i keep getting the fatal blue screen every day or two, when i reboot it says device driver error etc, so i went onto windows update, there was 4 updates for my hardware downloaded the updates installed them and half the stuff on my pc didnt work.

so i did a system resote back a few days, anyway is there any way to find out what device is causing me the problems?

    thanks in advance

in the blue screen of death(bsod), look for the line that contains something like this 0x0000008a. post that line here so can than see what is causing your bsod. had that error when trying to do a fresh install of xp on a customer's new pc. ended up was a bad stick of ram & than a bad videocard in a brand new pc.

After doing some hardware testing.....specifically MemTest86 for your memory...stay away from drivers at the MS update site.

Find, and retrieve the latest drivers from the manufacturers themselves.
