hello, i just signed up here because i recently got a burner for my computer and had a couple questions.

The Dvd Faq page had this to say about burning dual-layer disk on a single-layer burner:

so does this mean that if the manufacturer (or somebody online) releases a different version of firmware for my drive, i can burn dual layer disks? and if so, where would i find such firmware other than the manufacturer's website?

    Thanks,

    Matt

    Hi there Matt,

Unfortunately you're asking about something that doesn't exist. The best guess is that a "Hacked" firmware for something like Pioneer or Plextor will show up first. NO manufacture will ever supply firmware for your burner as they'll want you to buy a drive rather than "give" you one for free -

Dust off your wallet, dual burners are less than $100.00(USD) be better to just buy one -

    Cheers,

    Pete
