DVD burner burning slooooooow...

    i have a pioneer dvr-108 and am burning it using the nero i got off the link from this site... i am trying to burn the dvd at 4x and the disc i am using supports that speed but it takes about 1 hour and 20 mins for it to burn... is this correct? what settings should i check or how do i get this to burn a little faster? thanks

    No, it should take around 14-16 minutes to burn at 4x. Check your ide settings, make sure they are set to dma.

    how do i take a look at these settings? it is an external usb dvd burner if that makes a difference

    make sure your using usb2. also make sure you have the lastest firmware for this drive (v1.14 from memory)
