DVD burner not reading blanks

    True. My opinion is burn at the best speed for one's own setup. If higher speeds work, then there is no reason not to. However, some newbies don't realize at some point they may need to back off. Different variables come into play, i.e. burner, media and in some cases software. Some still miss the fact that errors are more likely to occur at higher speeds. Also, all burners are not created equal (as the situation above shows).
