Can someone please give me some idea as to the benefits of getting a DVD Burner as opposed to a DVD recorder. Which is easier to use? Do they both do the same things?

I realize that the DVD recorder is not hooked up to the computer so that you can't edit your home videos or add special effects, but since I am not that computer savy, I don't think I would be able to do that anyway.

    Thanks in advance.

a DVD recoreder is used more for recording shows off of television onto a DVD.. a DVD burner is more used to make backups of pre-existing dvds.
