Your first obstacle is the fact that MOST commercial dvd's contain encryption called CSS, this NEEDS to be removed in order for your PC to even access the information - programs know as 'rippers'

Suitable rippers - Smartripper, Dvd Decrypter and Dvd Shrink

Have a look at the guides section and downloads section here at Afterdawn for those proggies.....

Goto http://www.chrismccann.co.uk for a complete guide for Dvd Shrink........very user friendly..........after you use that ALL you need to do is burn.....

I got dvd shrink and I used it on black hawk down. I removed the extras to make it small enough to fit on a dvd-r and saved the new file in a VIDEO_TS folder. My question is what exactly do I do next? Can I simply get nero 5.5 dvd burning software? Also I tried installing nero 5.5 but it didn't recognize my Lg dvd-ram drive as a recording device. It detects it as a dvd-ram drive but only as a host, why is that?
