    Hello

I have recently wanted to expereience with DVD copying. I have some video clips, and movies that I would like to put on the dvd, but the question is, do I need to save it in a type of format?

Is it possible at all that it can be played on my DVD home theatre system?

    would appreciate a reply.

    Have a great day

    Thank You

    Welcome srmp777
1st thing make sure you cd/dvd drive is actually a DVD burner also. Some will play dvd's but not write to one.
2nd depending on the files original format you will probably need to convert them to play on you DVD player
3rd make sure you use good media (ty, ritek, verbatim)
4th You'll need software to support what you need to accomplish
My fav's are Nero (can get a 30 day free trial) for burning, converting, compressing etc, DVD Decrypter, DVD Shrink (both free) and AnyDVD (21 day free trial) for copy protected discs.
