I installed a new 16x burner. After playback, the DVD disc feels hot to the touch. Is it normal for some DVD burner drives to cause DVD discs to be so hot? Will this heat warp or damage the DVD in some other way?

Hot to the touch? How hot? Hot enough to burn your hand? Slightly warm is OK. DVD drives and players use a laser to read and write the disk, and it is normal for them to feel a little warm straight after (say) a whole movie has just played. Also the drives can get quite warm inside if the computer case has poor air circulation. You'll soon know if the disks are getting too hot, believe me!
