First of all sorry if this has already been asked. Does anyone know if u can make a 1:1 backup using DVD43 & Nero 6 ?? using dual layer media Many thanks in advance
I've just bought a few Dual Layer discs, can I just rip a large disc (7.30GB) using just DVD decrypter/Smartripper and then burning with Nero 6.3.1.20 or, (as I read somewhere else on the forum) you have to rip to ISO and then burn from the image file because, if it is done the normal way, Nero adds an extra layer break is this true? Also, will I have to update the firmware on my NEC ND-2510A burner (F/W version 2.15) to use the discs? Discs are Traxdata 8.5GB Dual Layer. System specs: Windows XP Professional with service pack 2 1GB DDR333 PC2700 RAM AMD Athlon XP 3000 Gigabyte GA-7N400 Pro2 mainboard 2xMaxtor 250GB SATA HDD (non RAID setup) NTFS Pioneer 12x DVD-ROM NEC ND-2510A DVD Dual Layer writer Software I use, Nero 6.3.1.20, CloneDVD, SmartRipper, DVD2one, DVD Shrink and DVD Decrypter. I have over 400 successful burns using the normal method, I don't wanna be making expensive coasters with discs @ £6 a pop! So, if anyone knows the right way to burn 1:1 backups using D/L discs & has had no problems, let me know so I can start burning! Cheers, Da_Burner
Problem solved! I took the leap and installed the 2.16 firmware from NEC and now, have my first succesful Dual Layer backup. Now, just need faster write speeds for the Dual Layer media! Da_Burner
