I recently purchased a Liteon LDW 400D burner, Because of it's format flexiblity. I am having probs, in that DVDXCopy, Prassi, etc. do not recognize the drive. Do I need to wait til they support the drive?
    Any hellp is greatly appreciated.
    Thx GW

I'm sorry to have to break this to you mate but I think you have a CD burner and not a DVD burner because Liteon don't make DVD burners.

Looks like a Liteon DVD burner to me.

What version of Windows are you using? Does Windows recognize the drive? Do you have any other optical drives in your computer? If yes, then did you make one slave and the other master?

    It's definitely DVD+r/rw -r/rw.
New model that I chased for 3 weeks, Liteon OEM'ed the Sony 500AX. It is same drive with slight firmware differences. I contactedtech support at Sonic Record Now, they said should work A.O.K.
    Thx for the feedback guys
    Any other ideas?

Windows 2000 should be fine. Now, what about the other 3 questions I asked?

lol Discmania - Liteon dont make DVD Writers. Well...he is right i suppose. Its a re-labelled Sony. However, if the badge says Lite-ON - its a Lite-ON, and i think the poor fella knows what he bought. Don't you ReddEddy!
