I succesfully backed-up san andreas on a 4x memorex DVD+R bought a 3 pack from wal-mart. I burnt it using alcohol 120% I couldn't burn any lower then 4x so I tried it and it worked. I have a V7 ps2 and I'm using the swap magic method (version 2.0) I don't have a modchip or anything only the swap magic discs and card. It does load up the game fine and it plays fine doesn't seem to be any hang-ups, long loading times etc. The only problem I notice is the dvd drive is louder Is this normal with back-ups? or does this mean the ps2's lens is working extra hard or something? I don't want to wreck my ps2, any help is appreciated.

To be honest running backups do stress the laser more. Also it shortens the life of the laser by alot IMO.
