I recently purchased a NEC ND-1300A DVD Drive, however I get the following error on NERO and the PC freezes (Have to reset). I've already sent the drive back once and had a new one but I still get the same error

    SCSI/IDE Error
    _NEC DVD-RW ND-1300A\H1 T0

Any ideas what is causing this (The drive Reads DVDs and Writes to CD-Rs)

Make sure your 1300 is a Master on an IDE cable. Check your Device Mgr. settings and apply DMA.

What OS are you using? Will it burn a CD ok?

Send a PM to ScubaPete - he has a 1300.

    luck-

You should firstly just change the IDE cables ie if you have two drives and they are on the same cable change them so they are on seperate cables. However if they are already on seperate cables try changing so they are on both and make sure the connectors, including the power plug, are tightly connected. If any of the cables look torn or faulty replace them.
